MONTEVIDEO (KAH for APCNews) -
Representatives from 29 different African parliaments met last week in Kigali to reaffirm that “equitable <acronym title="access to information: The right to access to publicly-funded information means that all information, including scientific and social research, that is produced with the support of public funds should be freely available to all. More broadly, access to information also refers to communities or individuals gaining access to information which was previously not available to them, as a result of access to information and communication technologies and/or the internet.

Style information: This phrase should almost always go in lower case unless it is included in the title of an instrument or publication.

Traditionally seen as civil and political rights, information rights are now becoming acknowledged as rights that are also social and economic, said APC’s Anriette Esterhuysen in her presentation which was framed by APC’s <acronym title="internet: A set of interconnected networks operated by government, industry, academia, and private parties which allow computers and other electronic devices in different locations to exchange information. The internet includes services such as the world wide web, electronic mail, file transfer (FTP), chat and remote access to networks and computers.

Style information: APC uses "internet" with a small "i" in all languages.
