APC helps people get access to the internet where there is none or it is unaffordable, we help grassroots groups use the technology to develop their communities and further their rights, and we work to make sure that government policies related to information and communication serve the best interests of the general population, especially people living in developing countries.
In all of our work we encourage people to network as a means of making other activities more sustainable. If people share their experiences and skills they have greater value over a longer period and often create a ripple effect.

Activismo en políticas globales en 2006
Para el programa de políticas de APC 2006 fue un año de transición. El proceso de la Cumbre mundial sobre la sociedad de la información (CMSI) llegó a su punto culminante en Túnez, en noviembre de 2005. Una vez concluido tuvimos que volver a estudiar el campo de las políticas y ver qué tipo de dinámicas estaban en juego.
Alianza BCO - Construir oportunidades de comunicación
APC forma parte de la Alianza Construir oportunidades de comunicación (Building Communications Opportunities – BCO), red de trabajo flexible de organizaciones con experiencia en información y comunicaciones para el desarrollo que han asumido un compromiso de aprendizaje y colaboración. Entre los miembros de la BCO o ‘socios’ como suele denominárselos, se cuentan agencias donantes de Canadá, Holanda, Suiza y el Reino Unido, así como organizaciones no gubernamentales de todo el mundo. BCO financió importantes proyectos de APC.
APC Hafkin Communications Prize
The Hafkin prize was established to honour Dr. Nancy J. Hafkin, a true pioneer of networking, and development information and communications in Africa, over the course of a twenty-three year career. APC’s objective is to recognize African ICT efforts, and to extract some of the lessons learned in order to make them accessible to others doing related work.
APC.org
In January 2008 APC launched the new multilingual APC website with an entirely revamped web platform. You are invited to participate through comments, training resources and blogging, just to name a few. Powered by the content management system Drupal, the new APC.org contains new and improved content in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. It is intended to better serve the ICT for social justice and development communities. New functionalities have been added and the navigation is of a completely different calibre.
Capacitación para redes electrónicas de mujeres en África - WENT
WENT (Capacitación para redes electrónicas de mujeres en África) apunta a capacitar a las mujeres y organizaciones de mujeres africanas para que utilicen las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) para el empoderamiento, el trabajo por el cambio social y el cabildeo sobre políticas.
Catalizar el acceso a las TIC en África (CATIA)
CATIA was a three-year project supported by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to enable Africans to gain maximum benefits from the opportunity offered by CATIA fue un proyecto de tres años para permitir a africanos y africanas aprovechar al máximo las oportunidades que ofrecen las TIC y actuar como catalizadores de la reforma de las políticas que las regulan. Gender and ICT Awards
The APC WNSP and the Global Knowledge Partnership launched the Gender and ICT Awards to honor and bring international recognition to innovative and effective projects by women to use ICTs for the promotion of gender equality and/or women’s empowerment. Offered in 2003 and 2005, profiles of award winners and honorable mentions can be found in the Awards’ database.
Harambee
El proyecto Harambee, concebido por la Asociación para el Progreso de las Comunicaciones, Bellanet y la Comisión económica para África de Naciones Unidas, está diseñado para dar apoyo tanto a los implementadotes de proyectos como a toda una gama de comunidades y redes de África, para coordinar y facilitar las interacciones entre sus respectivos campos de acción.

The research: “Effective access of rural communities to broadcasting in equal opportunities: A key strategy for digital inclusion in Latin America and the Caribbean” aimed at answering the question: “How can broadcasting be used as a digital inclusion strategy?”.
